Clay Pigeon Shoot

Saturday 24th September

Goodwood Estate

Our annual Clay Shoot was blessed with a terrific turnout of 12 teams of 4 enthusiastic shooters. Over coffee and bacon butties there was a palpable buzz of excitement and the competition was very keen.

The eventual and somewhat incongruously named team winners were ‘Don’t Stand a Chance’ of (left to right below) Tony Smith, Kevin Lillywhite, Andrew Stringer & individual Top Gun winner, Peter Pitman.

The shoot was followed by a delicious lunch at The Earl of March and together with the auction and raffle, the day raised a magnificent £8,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Our thanks go to the Duke of Richmond and Gordon for allowing us to use the wonderful clay shoot facilities on his estate, Ivol, John and the other Gun Club members who organised things and supported us on the day, the team at The Earl of March, all our wonderful participants and our ever-hardworking helpers.

Mega thanks to Geraldine Watts-Davies for arranging, chasing and working so hard to make this fabulous event such a success.
