Cowdray Golf Day 2019

Wednesday 3rd July

The sun shone gloriously on the 18 teams of valiant golfers for this year’s Macmillan Charity Golf Day at the stunning Cowdray Park Park Golf Club on Wednesday, 3rd July.

The format for the day’s play was Stapleford – 2 Best Scores on each hole. The stylishly-clad, Cumbacks triumphed in the team competition taking the Gordon Cup for the 2nd time with a score of 94 points. Their hero/bandit was Lionel Hickey who won both the individual Shield with 41 points and the Nearest the Pin in 2 Shots. Second placed, Four Blobs in a Row (86 points) narrowly pipped The Farragos (86) on count back.

The auction was masterfully managed by Patrick Doyle and added a further £3,115 for Macmillan Cancer Support and helped raise a total for the day of £8,250… A fabulous result… Huge thanks to all involved.

Photos of all the winners and all the teams are shown below.

Finally, we are pleased to advise that we are planning for our 2020 event to return to its original timing of the second week in June, and so we have pencilled in Wednesday, 10th June. Please make a diary note!
